COVID-19 – NSW Update

Posted on 14th May 2020

On behalf of TAD, we hope everyone is doing well, especially during these changing times.

We are excited that in line with the NSW Government’s recommendations from Monday 18th May, we can return to providing free Freedom Wheels assessments at our Northmead and Newcastle locations for people wanting to ride their very own custom bike.

Our Occupational Therapist and team will ensure the assessments will be completed with extra cleaning, meeting good hand hygiene and social distancing to protect you and our community.

Prior to attending you or your client attending the booked assessment, it is important to be aware of our new steps. These include:

  • Screening questions asked before the assessment is being held.
  • Up to 2 adults can accompany the client attending the assessment.
  • Practicing hand hygiene – washing or sanitising their hands before and after the assessment.
  • Having your temperature checked via non-contactless thermometer.
  • Limits to people using the elevator.
  • Practicing social distancing.

When you or your clients book in for your free assessment, our Freedom Wheels Project Coordinator, Mary will take you through the new steps in more detail.

To book in for any questions, please contact Mary on 02 9912 3400 or [email protected].

For clients needing assessments in regional areas, or in-home assessments for our Unique Solutions service, we are pleased to continue to provide free telehealth assessments with our Occupational Therapist and volunteers. Our team can help assess your or your clients for custom assistive technology or provide a provisional assessment and quote for Freedom Wheels to be included in NDIS plans.

Our Adaptable Solutions have not been impacted and these adjustable products are ready for no-contact delivery and can be ordered online. Visit our shop today!

Over this period, our busy volunteers have continued to build and design projects and for that, we thank you for your commitment and hard work.
