Charlotte wanted a bike to ride with her sister Michelle. But riding a standard bike like Michelle’s was too much of a risk to Charlotte’s health.
Nine-year-old Charlotte lives with a painful and debilitating rare disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa where her skin blisters and peels at the slightest touch. It has been likened to living with third-degree burns. Charlotte loves adventure but her disease means she has to be very careful. A small bump can mean months of pain for Charlotte, even putting her in the hospital.
“Charlotte is so incredibly strong and brave for the pain she goes through every day,” said Simone, Charlotte’s mum. Thanks to incredible supporters of Solve-TAD, Charlotte was able to get her very own Freedom Wheels bike that was custom built especially for her.
