Frame Running Now Available!

Posted on 6th Dec 2022

Frame Running is now available at Freedom Wheels!

Frame Running is a growing and exciting form of adapted sports that allows individuals with disabilities to participate in running events. Using a specialized three-wheeled frame, known as a “Frame Runner,” participants can maintain an upright posture and run with their legs in a more natural motion. This innovative equipment allows people with a wide range of physical abilities to take part in running events, and is helping to promote inclusion and accessibility in sports.

Frame Running originated in Denmark, where it was developed as a way to provide individuals with cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions with the opportunity to participate in running events. Since then, the activity has gained popularity around the world and is now recognized as a Paralympic sport.

In a Frame Running event, participants can compete in distances ranging from 100 meters to 5 kilometers, and can compete in individual or team events. The activity is not only physically beneficial, but can also provide a sense of accomplishment and boost self-esteem. It can also be a social activity, providing opportunities for individuals with disabilities to meet and connect with others who have similar interests and experiences.
